We have been making bi-annual trips to the Buffalo River area in search of waterfalls, rock formations, the deepest of valleys. This is our first visit to the Buffalo River Cottage. This cabin is a very nice base camp to return to just before sunset to bask in its setting as we refueled and recharged our batteries. This cabin had everything a person could need or want to be comfy.

One of our favorite rentals! The cabin was cozy and comfortable. The view is fabulous and peaceful. Well off the highway so it's very quiet. Very thoughtful and caring hosts. The kitchen had olive oil, spices, etc. the pots and pans were in great shape and made cooking enjoyable. We will 100% be back.

If you are planning a trip to the Buffalo, especially as a couple this is your spot! The sunset views from the hot tub are unreal. Cozy little cottage, very quiet and peaceful. We had a great stay and our daily visits from the friendly puppers got the day started right as well.

The location was beautiful! We stayed for three nights, but wished we stayed for more. The house was well stocked and comfortable. There was plenty of hiking and exploring to do nearby. One day the weather wasn't in our favor, we were perfectly content to sit inside and relax with the beautiful views out of the windows. Overall a great experience.

Thank you for sharing your amazing (home) cabin again. We will definitely return in the future. You would think living in Missouri our entire lives (we are old) we would have visited every Branson hot spot...not the case. We were able to go on the Lost Canyon at Top of the Rock for the first time and we loved it. --- See you again.

I absolutely fell in love with this place right from the drive up to the house. The view is amazing, the house was cozy and clean. The hot tub even had a little waterfall. We did lots of backroading around Erbie and I probably took 200 photos from the porch. I would go again in a heartbeat. I grew up in a cabin in the woods and I really felt right at home.

Our guests find the privacy they are longing for. The porch on the side of the cottage is private. You may hear a vehicle from time to time on a nearby gravel road but, mostly, you hear birds. It is the best!
We try our best to give everyone an earlier check in time if possible. It will depend on the bookings on the calendar. Ask, and we will tell you if it is possible.
The cottage is less than a mile on a gravel road from Arkansas Scenic Hwy 7. It can be rough at times due to the weather, but if you take it slow, it is manageable for most cars and trucks. Low clearance cars (Corvette) or motorcycles are not recommended.
Buffalo River Basin Cottage offers a range of amenities including:
- Two bedrooms each with queen-size beds (Stearns & Foster brand, replaced 2026)
- Cotton sheets and 4 pillows on each bed
- Ceiling fans
- Dual sinks in bathroom with tub/shower
- Shampoo/Conditioner/Soap dispenser
- Plush bath towels and plenty of wash clothes
- "Soft" toilet paper, Kleenex tissue and paper towels
- High Speed Wi-fi
- Roku TV (2025)
- Equipped kitchen
- Coffee, creamer
- Spices, sugar, flour
- Washer/Dryer in basement
- Large windows and sliding doors to take in the views
- Cold A/C and warm heat (perfect for every season)

- Saved the best for last, hot tub with a mountain and sunset view
You will be 6 minutes to the Daisy Queen (dairy bar) from the cottage. They have plate dinners and the best burgers...and don't forget to get a milkshake or dessert! JJ's Bar and Grill is 30 seconds further and offers delicious burgers. They serve alcohol.
Our welcome book has dining suggestions both north, south, west and east of the cottage! Be sure to check it out! Favorites include Ozark Cafe and Jasper Pizza in Jasper, and the Town Cafe in Harrison.
You will be about 7 minutes from the Dollar General. There is a liquor store and gas station near it. You can get groceries in Harrison, Jasper or Bellefonte. They are going to be a twenty minute drive. Harrison has Walmart, Harps, Aldi, and another local grocery stores.
Definitely, Branson is an hour give or take and an easy drive. Top of the Rock is 45 minutes away and our place would be great for getting to the Thunder Ridge Nature Arena concert and event venue. We have had several guests go to Branson shopping, enjoying a day at Silver Dollar City, the Sights and Sounds Theater and the other multiple activities Branson offers, and then return to the solitude of the cabin after spending the day there.
Many of our guest come stay with us as hub to go to the various trails in the area such as Lost Valley, Cecil Loop Trail, Alum Cove Trail, Roundtop and others. We have two binders in the cottage with hiking information.
Spring is the floating season since the river is rain dependent. We are 10 minutes from Pruitt Landing. This is also a great area to go swimming. The Welcome Book provides contact information for the outfitters in the area. When the Upper Section is too low to float, we tell guest to consider the Middle Section. It is a hour drive from the cottage to the outfitters for that section.
If you like "junkin", there is several flea market and antique stores in the area. We like the "Back Then, Right Now", "Rust, Dust and Wanderlust", and "Lovejoy". Boba Joe's is a bubble tea and dessert shop in the heart of downtown Harrison, AR that is fun to go to on vacation. Also, look in the Welcome Book for information about Farmer's Market days in Jasper and Harrison.

We live in the delta (rice and soybean farming) area of Arkansas. We love the Ozarks and the Buffalo National River...and all things Razorbacks! We consider being owners of the Buffalo River Basin Cottage quite serendipitous. After experiencing short-term rentals on various vacations, it became a dream to own one for ourselves. We enjoy sharing it with our guests. We love the porch and the view most of all! Our phones are full of amazing sunsets!
